How we have helped
These are just a few of the comments from injured members of the armed forces we have been able to help with your donations in our first year. We currently have several more applicants who require assistance from the Army Of Angels.
Please keep supporting us and helping to spread the word about the Army of Angels charity so we can help as many injured servicemen and women from all our conflicts.
Mr MacPhail suffering from PTSD from his service in Northern Ireland, Gulf war and Bosnia.
We helped towards the supply and installation of a physio bath to be supplied. In a phone conversation with one of the trustee's he expressed his thanks for the help.
Mr Tripney who served in Northern Ireland and suffered a gun shot wound
Mr Tripney required an orthopeadic bed, Mr Tripney's wife expressed her deepest thanks to the charity for all their help.
PTSD sufferer Mr Campbell who served in the Falklands war required financial help
Mr Campbell commented and said he really appreciated the help from the Army Of Angels.
Mr Clarke who has PTSD required help with accommodation and start up funds for basic household items.
VIA the Mark Wright Project the Army Of Angels paid the deposit and first months rent plus paid for used furniture to set up his new home. Mr Clarke was in homeless accommodation. Mr Clarke said "he appreciated the help and support from both charities and that without this the move would not have been possible".
Mr Williams who suffers from Chronic neuropathic pain due to his time served in the Falklands war.
Mr Williams has had flooring installed in his home. Again this came through SSAFA based in fulham, Mr Keats from SSAFA thanked the Army Of Angels for their help.
Mr Evans who served in Irag, Northern Ireland, Afghanistan and Bosnia now suffers with PTSD
We helped via SSAFA, in Newcastle Upon Tyne, with items Mr Evans required in his home
Mr Carlson who suffers with PTSD after serving in Northern Ireland had help with household items.
Mrs Wilkinson from SSAFA thanked the Army Of Angels for the contribution towards the items required for Mr Carlson
Mr Hutchinson who suffered chest trauma in Bosnia had financial help with legal fees
"may i take this opportunity to thankyou from ever corner of my heart, a huge thankyou from me to you, i can now relax and get in the correct frame of mind for the huge surgery i face, in September"
Mr Uluilakeba Suffers from PTSD and Shrapnel wounds and served in the Mercian Regiment in Iraq
"Mr Uluilakeba thanked us for the household items and sofa bed he received for his newly acquired flat"
PTSD Sufferer Mr Millington received assistance with household furniture and a stair carpet.
We have yet to have a reply from Mr Millington but will update this if we hear from him, all the items he requested has been delivered and installed.
Mr Keay has received a Gas cooker
Me Keay was in desperate need for a gas cooker and had asked other charities for assistance but all avenues failed, Mr Keay fitted our criteria and we was able to assist him with a new gas cooker which was also installed for him. Mr keay appreciates our help and has promised to let people know what a great job we do.
War veteran Mr Rodwell received Mattress and washing machine
Mr Rodwell was very grateful for our help and says that what we have helped him with has made a difference to his living conditions.
War veteran and PTSD sufferer Mr Fisher has received financial assistance
Mr Fisher thanked us for the financial help we gave him and said "I appreciate the speed that you have been able to help me and have taken a huge weight off my shoulders and made our New Year a happy one, Thank You"
Gulf War Veteran Mr Maccoll From London received a sofa and double bed with an orthopaedic mattress:
"Thank you so much for your help, the bed is amazing. I've had such a great night’s sleep for once. Thank you for all your time.The Army of Angels is such a great charity"
Mr Maccoll had shoulder reconstruction surgery after being blown up in the Gulf War. He also suffered shrapnel wounds to his back and appointments with an acupuncture specialist are being funded by the Army Of Angels.
War Pensioner Mr Raynor from Barnsley received a tilt and lift chair:
"Firstly may I express my thanks to the charity for all its help. It’s unusual to find people so kind and determined to help the ex-service community. I know, I've spent years helping others, but now I know what it means to ask for help myself. This brought a tear to my eye. Thank you so much for a comfortable Christmas."
PTSD sufferer Mr J Hatfield from Barnsley has received a cooker and fridge freezer commented:
"I wish to express my most grateful appreciation for your help in this matter. Thank you, it has meant that I can now cook myself a hot meal without resorting to takeaways. I will be eternally grateful for everything you have done for me."
Families’ Activity Breaks (FAB) received a £1,000 donation.
Major Belinda Forsyth thanked the Army Of Angels for the £1,000 cheque stating that the money will pay a contribution of per family towards Families’ Activity Breaks. FAB helps to provide breaks for families who have lost a loved one serving their country. During these activity breaks on-site counselling is also provided.
